Dr. E. J. James
Chairman
Dr. E. J. James served as a Scientist for 30 years in the Centre for Water Resources Development and Management (CWRDM), Calicut, Kerala, and retired as Scientist-G and Executive Director of CWRDM. He was the former Director of the Irrigation Management Training Institute (WALMI) of Kerala. After his retirement, he established the Water Institute – a Centre of Excellence at Karunya Deemed University (KITS - Coimbatore). He also served as the Dean-Research, Dean- School of Agriculture and Biosciences, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor of KITS, and presently is the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Karunya Deemed University. He has carried out more than 80 funded research projects in the area of water for DST, MoEF&CC, MoJS, Drinking Water Mission, CBIP, BRNS, MoS, e.t.c of the Government of India. He had taken up consultancy assignments from agencies like the World Bank, UNDP, UNEP, JICA, Wetlands International, ICEF, etc. on projects related to water and livelihood. He has been involved in formulating the Water Policies of Kerala and also projects like the Kerala Community Irrigation Project, KRWSA drinking water project, AHADS watershed management project, World Bank Projects on drinking water, Loktak Wetland Development Project, and Lakshadweep Drinking Water Project.
Dr. James took up joint projects with NGOs within Kerala and outside. He served as the Chairman of the Research Council of CWRDM and also the Chairman of the Steering Committee of the National Wetland Atlas – a joint venture of MoEF&CC and SAC. He was earlier a Member of the National Wetland Committee, Central Wetland Regulatory Authority, and ICID Working Group on Sustainable Development of Tidal Areas, and is presently a Member of the Governing Body of Wetland International – South Asia and Surface Water Research Group of CWC.

Dr. Pinkie Jacob Eravuchira

Dr. Pinkie Jacob Eravuchira, obtained her Ph.D. in material science from Universitat Rovira I Virgili, Spain, and has completed her master’s in nanoscience from Germany. After her doctoral studies, she persuaded her post-doctoral research in the field of Biomedical Engineering at Tel Aviv University, Israel, where her main research focus was on developing nano-based sensors for various Biomedical applications. Her research interest includes developing nano-sensors and various other technical devices for the application of health, environment, agriculture, and ecology. She has handled several international projects and has collaborated with research groups in some of the prestigious universities and research institutes across the world. She has guided several research students and has also coordinated several international and national conferences and seminars.

Mr. Raju Joseph

A passionate teacher and an enthusiastic naturalist who has been working for the progress of the environment and people, especially in Wayanad district for years. His areas of expertise are zoology and ecology, and he has been studying endemic species in the Western Ghats. He has been effortlessly working for the social and economic upliftment of the less privileged people in the remote areas of Wayanad, Kerala. He volunteers in several non-profitable organizations and groups that work for the upliftment of weaker societies in Wayanad.

Dr. A Rathinakumar is the founder and research officer at VAAVAL-CIBRES, an organization that promotes ecosystem sustainability through the conservation of bats and other organisms in India. He holds a doctoral degree in Zoology from Madurai Kamaraj University. He has worked on the ecology, behaviour, and conservation of different bat species in India, and has published his research findings in many international journals.
Dr. Rajitha Kamalon

Dr.Rajitha Kamalon, is a passionate chemist who has obtained her doctorate in organic chemistry from the University of Mysore, India. Her prime research area of interest is the Synthesis of nanoparticles and nanocomposites, corrosion studies, and electrochemistry. She has her research articles published in several top-end renowned international journals and has presented papers at several international conferences abroad.
Dr. Joseph J Erinjery

Dr Joseph J Erinjery is a researcher working on man-animal conflict and zoonotic spill over in Wayanad district of Kerala. He holds a doctoral degree in Zoology from the University of Mysore, and has completed his postdoctoral research at Tel Aviv University and Bar Ilan University in Israel. He has remote sensing and GIS expertise and applies these techniques to studying animal species distributions. He has published his research findings in several international journals. He also serves as a reviewer in many international journals.
